Dr. Thomas F. Carroll

DMD University of Kentucky College of Dentistry

Dr. Thomas F. Carroll, graduate of The University of Kentucky College of Dentistry, is returning to Bluegrass Oral Health Center.  Tom has been in practice for over 35 years in Bowling Green, has taught at the UK College of Dentistry in Lexington and has worked in private practice for the past several years.

Tom and his wife Rita have 3 children, Amanda Leigh, Scott and Matt, and have been residents of Bowling Green for more than 40 years.  Tom and Rita, along with their family and friends, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary coming up soon in 2021.

Dr. Carroll is a member of Pennyrile Dental Society, the Kentucky Dental Association, and Tom is a life member of the American Dental Association.  Tom has served in the local community as President of McNeil PTA, Bowling Green High PTO and Bowling Green Junior High site based committee. He has also served has a for the past 25 years served as assistant scout master for Boy Scout troop 202, based at First Christian Church.  Dr. Carroll also served for many years as a volunteer Dentist at the Bowling Green Free Clinic, a non- profit treatment clinic for the working under class in the Barren River region. He has served two separate terms as President of the Pennyrile Dental Society and is currently a member of the Kentucky Dental Associates Executive Board of Directors.

Dr. Carroll is a Vietnam veteran, having served with the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Rangers, First Infantry Division (Big Red One) as a rifleman, from 1968-1969.  For his service, Dr. Carroll earned the Battalion unit citation ribbon, the Vietnam service ribbon, the combat infantryman’s badge, the air medal with cluster, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal.  Tom was honorably discharged in 1970 with the Rank of Drill Sergeant, and after graduating from Dental School in 1981, he settled in Bowling Green with his family.

Tom is excited to be coming “home” to Bluegrass Oral Health Center, which he was a part of until 2009.  He is looking forward to reconnecting with both his professional colleagues, his many friends, and former patients.
